The STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX® was developed at the beginning of the 1990s as a reaction to the need of consumers and the general public for textiles that were harmless to health. Until the introduction of the STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX®, there was no reliable product label for consumers to assess the human ecological quality of textiles, nor was there a uniform safety standard for companies in the textile and clothing industry that made it possible to assess potential harmful substances in textile products in practical terms.
